The race, explained in six minutes

What is Deadly Dozen?

Video: What Is Deadly Dozen? - Explained in 5 Minutes by Martin Boyce, on YouTube.

Deadly Dozen is the global fitness race: twelve 400-metre runs around an athletics track, each followed by a functional exercise station. This six-minute video by Martin Boyce, who has raced it, covers the format, the stations, the venues and how to enter.

The short version

  • Twelve Journeys: 400-metre runs around an athletics track, 4.8km in all.
  • Twelve Labours: a functional exercise station after every run, in the centre of the track - farmers carry, deadlift, lunge and nine more.
  • Your way: race solo, share the Labours in Pairs, or take turns as a Relay team.
  • For everyone: open to anyone aged 18 or over on race day, and first-timers are welcome.
  • Start smaller: the Deadly Sprint is the Deadly Dozen cut in half - twelve 200m runs, half the reps, the same weights.

Your first race
