Athletes racing the Deadly Sprint on an indoor track

Your first fitness race

A fitness race
for beginners

Start with the Deadly Sprint: the Deadly Dozen cut in half - twelve 200m runs, half the reps, the same weights. The name is the distance, not the pace: jog it, run it or sprint it.

START HERE

Three easy
ways in

  • The Deadly Sprint: half the distance and half the reps of the Deadly Dozen, at your own pace. Most people's first race, and the way into the Dozen.
  • Share the work: race as a pair and split the exercises however you like, or as a relay team taking turns, one run and one exercise at a time.
  • No running: most gym races swap the runs for a rower, ski erg or bike, inside affiliated gyms. See fitness races without running.

Who can enter?

Anyone aged 18 or over on race day. First-timers are welcome, and nobody expects you to sprint: the clock simply records your time on the global leaderboard, next to everyone who raced the same format.
