Deadly Youth – The Track Race for 12–15 Year Olds
For 12–15 year olds who want more than a PE lesson. This is their race.
What is Deadly Youth?
DEADLY YOUTH is a full Deadly Dozen Track Race designed specifically for 12–15 year olds.
Just like the adult race, athletes complete:
12 x 400m runs on the track
12 x Labours (functional fitness stations) performed between each run
The key difference:
All Labours are performed at approximately 50% of the adult volume and weights, making the race challenging but age-appropriate.
The goal is simple:
Introduce young athletes to the world of fitness racing in a safe, structured, and inspiring environment.
How the Race Works
Every DEADLY YOUTH athlete completes:
12 x 400m track runs
12 x Labours, each performed after a run
Labours are scaled to youth level (around half the adult volume and loading)
Examples of Labours (adapted from the adult race):
Carries with lighter kettlebells or plates
Lower-volume bodyweight movements
Shorter distances and reduced reps on key stations
All movements are coached and judged by certified Deadly Dozen staff to ensure good technique and safety at all times.
Who Can Race?
DEADLY YOUTH is ideal for:
Young athletes aged 12–15
Teens already involved in sports (football, rugby, athletics, etc.)
Youth members of Deadly Dozen Gyms or affiliate gyms
Anyone in that age bracket who wants a new challenge and a taste of competitive fitness
Important:
All athletes must be 12–15 on race day
Guardians must be present at the venue throughout the race
Consent forms and waivers must be completed prior to racing
Safety First. Standards Always.
DEADLY YOUTH has been designed to balance performance, safety and fun:
Scaled volume and loads (around 50% of adult race standards)
Deadly Dozen coaches and judges on the floor throughout the race
Mandatory guardian presence at the event
Clear rules around pacing, rest and safe execution of Labours
We want young athletes to leave tired, proud and excited – not broken.
